ABOUT THE FACULTY ADVISOR
Dr. Sarah Kahn
Dr. Kahn is the Director of the Counseling and Social Change undergraduate minor at San Diego State University and also serves as the Advisor for the Counseling and Social Change Club at SDSU. Dr. Kahn is committed to preparing culturally responsive and respectful agents of change in the mental health field at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Her research focuses on clinical supervision, narrative practices and social justice. Her primary teaching focus lies in the areas of identity, cultural competence and applied clinical training. Dr. Kahn is also a practicing marriage and family therapist and supervisor at Narrative Health Initiatives in the Hillcrest community of San Diego and also supervises graduate students at the Center for Community Counseling and Engagement in City Heights. Dr. Kahn has a strong interest in the study abroad experience and has led study abroad programs in Northern Cyprus and China for SDSU undergraduates.
